Northern Research Associates offer a number of services in a variety of areas concerned with evaluation and social research. We offer training, data collection and data analysis facilities for your own research or as part of a universal research project.
Training.
Whether you require training in research methods or in the training of an interview team, we have the expertise to meet your needs. A number of training packages are available, with details available on request. Please contact us with any of your queries and feel free to visit us at our Head Quarters.
Data collection.
We always ensure that the methodology we utilise in conducting any research project is tailored to suit any statutory requirements and the specific needs of the client. We use a number of techniques in order to collect our data dependent on the type of study being conducted. Our methods include: desk research, one-to-one interviews, focus groups, structured questionnaires and observation. Each method will inform a specific aspect of the research to ensure an overall picture of the subject being investigated.
Data analysis.
Quantitative data obtained from questionnaires etc. is analysed using the SPSS Base Statistical Package. This package ensures accurate statistical analysis of the data and enables the results to be displayed in a clear graphical manner to enhance client understanding.
The qualitative evidence gathered from interviews and focus groups is recorded either on tape and then transcribed or is taken down in note form at the time of the interview. Analysis of this data requires a reflective approach during analysis.
By looking for both significant commonalities and differences, having an on-going dialogue with projects and staff and checking with the interviewees, we ensure that the information presented in our research reports offers a fair and accurate record of the facts.
It is the synthesis of all the data and the interpretation of it that forms the research findings report. See 'contact us' for further details.
